This is the second of three books in the English in Pictures for Beginners series. Book 2 covers basic spoken English exercises including introductions, as well as talking about yourself and your family. It also covers using the verb 'to have', describing things in your house using ‘there is, there are……,’ talking about what people are doing, using the present continuous tense, and expressing ability with ‘can’ and ‘can't'. New vocabulary includes: names of countries and their nationalities, family members, describing the weather, furniture and rooms in a house and verbs describing activities and actions. These books are intended for home study and are suitable both as ESL, English as a Second Language, in the case of children already living in an English speaking country, as well as for EFL, for those studying English as a Foreign Language. This series is primarily intended for elementary school age children already studying English at school who can benefit from a supplementary book to reinforce their knowledge. However, the material can be equally useful for older children, or even adults who want to brush up their English! The content is loosely contextualized to South East Asia, though there are also numerous cartoons depicting fantasy scenes, so the material can appeal to any nationality. The books in this series aim to reflect diversity, inclusion, gender balance and respect for nature and the environment as well as projecting an atmosphere where children from different backgrounds can enjoy school life together. Projecting a fun approach to learning English through captivating drawings and cartoons, this series can help motivate students to want to learn more and improve their English by their own efforts.
